THE TILE (LA BALDOSA)

Short film-2016
By Bernard Bravo

About a year ago I met Bernard. His passion for film and movies he loved made me have a long and pleasant conversation with him. At the same time his restlessness and instinct mingled with the humility of a young man who does not believe everything but wants to learn and drink from what surrounds him. Humble but with enormous talent. In those first meetings he told me about this story, and he taught me the script and the drawings I had made to recreate the atmosphere of the short I wanted to make. I saw that he had a lot of personality, that he had a mystery, that his ideas were evocative and complex and I decided to help him. I think that some filmmakers should help others, especially the younger ones, because it is what makes this profession noble in which above all we love cinema.

Bernard shot a teaser and I was even more surprised by the strength of his images and the treatment of sound. The mystery and attraction they produced. We decided that we had to produce this short film from the Loma Blanca because it is a different story, special and forceful, but also because beyond the history of this short there is the young and talented look of its director and screenwriter. Believe me if I tell you that we can see a great filmmaker born. It’s worth betting on it and making this short film.

Boni Garcia sees a world that is present, but of which we have not even become aware.

Boni’s mind mixes reality with intuition and imagination. One day Boni will find some broken tiles on the pavement that seem to hide something … Boni will investigate on his own the reason for that fear and that feeling.

What should we trust? Our objective view of the reality, or our own intuition? Where is the truth hidden
